our community projects
We believe the YogaBuddy community should be accessible for everyone and your contributions are valuable to us so that we can continue to grow and give back which allows us to give 100% profits to the community projects we work on. To keep this running successfully we rely on donations. If you appreciate what we are doing there are a number of ways to contribute , whether that is a monthly donation, a one off donation or a service you can bring to the community that adds value, all will be gratefully received.
YOGABUDDY Community are passionately dedicating resources and training to provide sustainable support to the mental health and well-being of local people.
To help those coming from difficult backgrounds we provide programs with a qualification attached that can be used to offer services into their own communities.
One of the main areas will be addiction recovery work and providing Yoga teacher training programs so these practices can be used in rehab and drug and alcohol centres in their own communities.
The training will have a dedicated training approach that will cover very specifically Yoga and meditation for addiction and mental health.
Projects are developing all of the time, here is a snapshot of some of our existing work...
Estella from YOGABUDDY formed a collaboration with Simona founder of the Carvernoma society after Simona went onto one of Estella's retreats in India, Simona felt the practice of yoga and meditation was so helpful for her that she wanted to bring this practice for Cavernoma patients, this is when the Heal your brain project was birthed. In November last year, a local lottery grant was approved to run workshops and retreats throughout the year.
This is a new project that the YOGABUDDY community member money plans on helping with funds that will help those with learning difficulties to go on outdoor walking adventures. Martina founder of rambling Salamanda and Estella instantly made a connection with very similar desires to help those who really need it, Martina has been working with adults with special needs through the Camphill centre in Milton Keynes from 2002 until 2018 but left to pursue this project of her own with her partner Frazer, unfortunately, due to COVID-19, this project will take a hit financially. A percentage of your contributions will help towards this project and help keep it going.
Yearly reports will be created showing the transparency of where your member money is going. By being a paying member of this platform you are continuing to support your community. We will also keep you up to date on the YogaBuddy Community platform on how these projects are doing. This is exactly what the community platform is for, to stay connected.
Would you like to be a part of our community projects?
The first one took place in February this year in Buckinghamshire and there were 4 more to be carried out through the year, which have been postponed due to COVID-19.
However, Estella has continued to run weekly Yoga Nidra practices for the Cavernoma society online via Zoom as well as them practising Yoga with Nikki who is a Yoga teacher but has the condition also, so knows first hand what It is like to have had a brain injury and use the practice of yoga to improve her brain function and movements.
We now have a Heal your brain tribe on the YOGABUDDY community platform, dedicated to the Heal your brain project and those with the Cavernoma condition, this is a private group where a sign up needs to take place first through an online form
Through this online community, it helps us to understand their needs so we can continue to progress with offering these practices and creating events that serve those with Cavernoma.
